New
Year´s in Peru is "locaso" aka the closet word I can find to cray in Spanish. As you know Peruvians have no chill and use ghetto fireworks on
a daily basis for no reason. Therefore New Years was off the hook
ghettoly dope. My favorite Peruvian tradition so far: For new years they
make life size voodoo dolls of people they don't like and they burn them
at midnight. BAHA Like so messed up but also the best thing I have ever
heard. The Familia Ranilla definitely made one of one of the elders who
was here last year, which is yet another reason they are my favorite
people on this planet.
Baha Listen to my life right now guys:
So
we are bumping around in the street because one of our visits fell
through and this guys with a cane comes charging at us and I am thinking
like shiz man do we run away what is homie doing here.
But
we stand our ground and end up chatting with him. His name is Santos
and moved here from Cusco 4 months ago and has been looking for our
chapel ever since. Direct quote "I have been looking for the chapel
here so I can get baptized." LIKE WUT. I definitely looked up in suspicion of some sort of celestial practical joke. But after a couple
lessons with Santos and a Sunday morning in the chapel I am convinced
The Lord put him in our path that day. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a missionary and to literally be a tool in The Lords
hands going where he wants me to go knowing he has people ready to
follow his plan waiting for us to knock on their door, talk to them on
the bus, or my new favorite not run away from them when they track you
down via cane.
other highlights this week:
- it rained.
- Elder Taysom is coming to visit today. Hecka stoked.
- I finally learned how to say don't judge me in Spanish.
- My home girl little sister Abby sent me Christmas nuts from the mall aka heaven.
- Ceasar passed the sacrament again and we talked a little about a mission!
other than that not much, I´m still in the preachin bidnezz.
love you folks.
over and out, feliz ano nuevo.
